Indoor tanning is amazing and has many benefits when tanning correctly. Don’t worry though we are here to help and ensure that you are always getting the best out of your tanning sessions.

Tip 1

Believe it or not by using UV tanning sessions it can actually be a very good form of skin care, especially our brand new Ergoline Prestige 1600. Just remember to always select your salon wisely, here at Radiance London we have friendly and trained staff to advise you on which bed is best for your needs as well as the duration of the session.

Tip 2

Understanding your skin type is very important for a flawless and beautiful tan but most importantly a safe one. Your tanning session should be based on the levels of melanin in your skin and you’re tanning goals.

Tip 3

What are your goals? Are you looking to prepare your skin for a summer vacation, a natural and healthy glow or just to deepen your natural colour? Once these have been decided you can speak to a trained member of staff who can guide you on how to achieve this. Whether it's using tanning lotions alongside your UV sessions or alternating between stand up and lay down beds.

Tip 4

Never burn! This is the worst thing you could do to your skin. Always use a tanning lotion before using a UV sunbed. These are designed to help keep moisturising levels topped up as well as assist the tanning process. So, how do you decide on which lotions to choose? Look out for lotions which are rich in Aloe Vera and Silicone. This will make it perfect to lock in moisture and aid healthier and younger looking skin.

Remember: Keeping your skin silky smooth and healthy will help your skin absorb the UV light, this will make it twice as effective then skin which is dry. Dry skin will not be able to absorb the UV rays due to the skin reflecting the UV light.

Tip 5

Please protect your eyes! Salons will provide you with special goggles which will have a broad-spectrum protection towards both UVA and UVB rays.

Tip 6

The question that everyone asks is when is the best time to shower? It is best to do this before your tanning session. When applying your tanning lotions this needs to be done on freshly washed skin in order for you to receive all the benefits. Also for those of you who prefer to use lotions with a hint of bronzing, the cream needs to be left on your skin for at least 4 hours in order for you to receive optimum benefits, so shower before your session and say hello to that healthy, prolonged tan.
